Canada Inline is committed to promote a positive Inline Hockey experience for everyone involved by organizing, supporting, coordinating and developing inline hockey programs and events for all age and skill levels. We will partner with organizations that will help provide a positive experience for players, coaches, officials and administrators. We develop and prepare high performance teams for International competition.
The International Federation of Roller Sports (FIRS) now World Skate has been recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the world governing body of roller sports. The long standing relationship between Canada Inline and FIRS, now World Skate, has given Canada Inline the opportunity to lead the proposal for participation as a non Olympic sport in the 2015 Pan Am Games and continue to participate in annual World Inline Championship events.

OPERATION OBJECTIVES OF CANADA INLINE
1. To promote a positive Inline Hockey experience for all players, coaches, officials, administrators, volunteers and parents by organizing, supporting, coordinating and developing inline hockey programs and events for all age and skill levels.
2. To protect and serve the mutual interest of all players, coaches, officials, administrators, volunteers and parents.
3. To enhance the positive value of our inline hockey programs by providing leadership and initiatives to develop better citizens, to encourage and direct the fostering of a strong sense of community pride and participation for all communities large and small.
4. To develop coaches, officials, administrators, and volunteers to carry out the expressed goals of our organization.
5. To work with Community Inline Hockey Associations to promote the cooperative development of inline hockey programs and their effective administration.
6. To work with International Federations to promote the sport of inline hockey globally.
7. To partner with other organizations that will help promote, develop and foster a positive experience for players, coaches, officials and administrators.
8. To develop and prepare High Performance Teams, athletes, coaches and officials for International competition.
HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAM
Canada Inline’s High Performance Program will operate with the objective to be Athlete Centered and Coach Supported.
INTRODUCTION TO CANADA INLINE HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAM
Canada Inline will assemble National High Performance Teams (Senior Men, Senior Women, Men 24U and Junior-18U) and Provincial High Performance Teams (10U-18U and Women) annually to participate at all Federation of International Roller Sports (FIRS) organized World Championships, World Inline Cup, and other International competitions deemed appropriate by the National High Performance Committee, including Pan Am Games (every four years) and Pan Am Games Qualifier (two years prior to Pan Am Games).
Both National and Provincial Teams will select players, coach and support staff through a critical path process to identify the best-qualified persons available at the time of selection. The intent of this manual is to identify and outline the various components for the successful operation of National and Provincial Teams representing Canada, Canada Inline, Canadian Olympic Committee, Sport Canada and the sport community within Canada.
The actual execution of these components are intended to compliment one another in order to effectively and efficiently build a cohesive team unit to compete in short term, high stress competitive environments, synonymous with international championships and events.
The organization and operation of the various phases of our National & Provincial Team High Performance Program is the responsibility of Canada Inline. In all cases the staff and appointed volunteers of Canada Inline are responsible for the execution of the High Performance Program.
The financial control of the High Performance Program rests solely with Canada Inline staff and each team General Manager. The team General Manager is responsible for preparing team & event budgets and having them approved by Canada Inline President/CEO and National Director of High Performance.
Canada Inline must approve all rosters of each National & Provincial Teams, through the outlined process that will be delivered and communicated by the National Director of High Performance. The purpose of the High Performance Program is to acknowledge and celebrate the elite level inline players, to promote the sport of inline hockey, to have prepared mechanisms with the sole purpose to continue the development of the largest pool of potential players which the program can accommodate in as many areas in Canada through the promotion & recruitment of elite players.
All coaching staff, support staff, players, officials and other volunteers representing a National & Provincial Team High Performance Program must adhere to the current Canada Inline Code of Conduct and Abuse and Harassment Policy, as well as all other relevant Canada Inline Policies.
NATIONAL HIGH PERFORMANCE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
In order to protect the National High Performance Program from outside influences a High Performance committee structure has been developed. The structure is to ensure that the operating policies and guidelines are consistent and reviewed annually. The following organizational structure for the National High Performance Program has been implemented and will improve the opportunities and success of our High Performance Teams.
CANADA INLINE CODE OF CONDUCT
This Code of Conduct identifies the standard of behaviour which is expected of all Canada Inline members and participants, which for the purpose of this policy shall include all players, guardians, parents, coaches, officials, volunteers, directors, officers, committee members, conveners, team managers, trainers and administrators involved in Canada Inline activities and events.
Canada Inline is committed to providing an environment in which all individuals are treated with respect. Members and participants of Canada Inline shall conduct themselves at all times in a manner consistent with the values of Canada Inline which includes fairness, integrity and mutual respect.
During the course of all Canada Inline activities and events, members shall avoid behaviour which brings Canada Inline or the sport of inline hockey into disrepute, including but not limited to abusive use of alcohol, use of non-medical drugs and use of alcohol by minors.
Canada Inline members and participants shall at all times adhere to Canada Inline’s operational policies and procedures, to rules and regulations governing Canada Inline events and activities, and to rules and regulations governing any competition in which the member participates on behalf of Canada Inline.
Members and participants of Canada Inline shall not engage in any activity or behaviour which interferes with competition or with any player or team¡¦s preparation for competition, or which endangers the safety of others.
Members of Canada Inline shall refrain from comments or behaviors, which are disrespectful, offensive, abusive, racist or sexist. In particular, behaviour, which constitutes harassment or abuse, will not be tolerated, and will be dealt with under Canada Inline’s Harassment policy.
Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the Discipline Policy of Canada Inline. Such action may result in the member losing the privileges, which come with membership in Canada Inline, including the opportunity to participate in Canada Inline activities and events, both present and future.
FORMATION & EVOLUTION OF CANADA INLINE
Organizational name change officially took place in the fall of 2003 from Canadian Inline Hockey Association to Canada Inline;
Canada Inline evolved after the Canadian Hockey Association (CHA) dissolved their Inline Hockey Program (Sept.2000);
The purpose of the development of Canada Inline is to continue the development of inline hockey leagues, programs, events and promotion through community leagues;
The mandate of Canada Inline is to organize National standard development programs, playing rules, age divisions, events, teams, and to provide administrative services to the inline hockey community across Canada;
To provide a National Insurance Plan for all member players and leagues of Canada Inline;
Canada Inline will continue to be a clearing house for information for the inline hockey stakeholders with regards to standardization of playing rules, age divisions, equipment standards, events, development programs for athletes, officials, administrators and trainers;
Canada Inline are members of the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) as the recognized organization by the International Governing Body of Inline Hockey (FIRS) Federation of International Roller Sports (accepted Oct/01);
Canada Inline was accepted in fall of 2001 as a full member with FIRS, which has provided access for Canada Inline National Teams to World Championships, Pan Am Games and World Games (2005).
Canada Inline will strive to continue to develop a High Performance Program through participation at the World Games, Pan Am Games, World Championships for Men, Women and Junior teams, as well as supporting the World Youth Inline Cup with Provincial teams;
Canada Inline will strive for participation and membership with Canada Games Council to have inline hockey included in Provincial and Canada Summer Games in the future.
