Canada INline - Pure Maple, National team development program.
What is Pure Maple ?
Canada Inline staff get contacted all the time by players in all regions asking us, " how can I play more inline/roller hockey, my local league doesn't offer the opportunities that I'm looking for? ". Pure Maple is Canada Inlines answer to this situation in our country.
Across Canada, we have many great leagues for both youth and adults. They are all local leagues that allow players an opportunity to play and develop their skills. However, there are some players that want more. They want to experience tournaments and play more year round. In many cases trying to round up enough players from one local area to go and participate at a bigger event, is just simply not possible. The end result, is 3-4 players who were really excited to go, get left having no team and no chance to participate.
Pure Maple provides a chance for all players in Canada to play in the events that are outside their local league. If there is a inline/roller hockey event going on and we have 10 players an a goalie spread across the country that fit a proper age group, those players now get to go representing Canada as Pure Maple.
In late 2017, the idea of Pure Maple was brought up and in early 2018, Canada Inline sent it's first Pure Maple Men's Team to the 2018 Narch Winternationals as a pilot project. Pure Maple competed in the Men's Pro division and the team had a great showing, launching the new project.
In 2019, Canada Inline sent many Pure Maple teams in various age categories to the Narch Finals in California. The program was a huge success. 2020/21/22 saw the world take a break from sports and travel and we are now ready to get back to it with a Pure Maple program that is stronger than ever.
PURE MAPLE ROSTERS :
We will carry a minimum of 8 players on a team plus 1 goalie
We will carry a maximum of 12 players on a team plus 2 goalies ( only 2 goalies if they would agree to share the net )
SPRING / SUMMER TIME EVENTS :
All players who wish to be named to a Pure Maple roster during a spring/ summer season event, will be required to participate in the Canada Inline Tryouts process. We will be able to evaluate those players and establish a decision on all players skill sets. If we have the opportunity to create multiple teams in one age group. The results of the tryouts process will determine which players are placed on the higher level roster and which players are placed on the lower level roster.
WINTER TIME EVENTS :
Events that will happen in the winter months, Example Narch Winternationals or State Wars Winterwars. Canada Inline will use its Historical tryout rankings to help with player placement. Along with coaches reports from teams that participated in Canada Inline summer events from the prior year.
The Coaches :
Through our Men's Pro Team players and Canada Inline admin, we will be offering top level coaching to all of our teams. All of these coaches are involved in the game at the highest level possible and they love to give back to the up and coming players when and where they can. They are all 3rd party neutral to the teams, which follows the Canada Inline model of removing political influences from inline/roller hockey.
The Uniforms :
Since Canada Inline is launching this program as a club team, Pure Maple will have a specific uniform, one that doesn't need to carry a new identity from year to year. Players will keep this uniform and it's one that will be reusable for more than one event.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- All of the club tournaments tier teams into Platinum Gold and Silver divisions. The goal is to have all the players playing at their appropriate skill level and facing other like skilled teams. This makes for better hockey for everyone.
- We do not have any guarantee on the number of teams that we will create from season to season.
- We will not issue refunds for those who are not wanting to play on a second or third team.
- Canada Inline believes in a fair and honest process to ensure that all players are placed as accurately as possible.
